  • Time Team Live – Big Royal Dig

Have you caught any of Time Team Live this weekend? They’re conducting excavations at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Holyrood House Palace. What’s really strange is the More 4 live coverage. More 4 is doing a sort of streaming service which just shows you shots of the dig underway during the day with no commentary…

  • Writely Post This is

Writely Post This is a bit of test to copy to check that I can send this from Writely. Minutes later… Well that seems to work OK. Lots of ways of getting stuff onto this site now.

  • Movable Type

Another quick entry to test my so-called tag cloud…

  • Movable Type 3.32

Well after a couple of false starts I think I’ve now got Movable Type version 3.3 (3.32 indeed) working. I had some false starts earlier which gave a “PreSave failed” error. Googling it really didn’t help, and I was flumoxed. But I think that I failed to update a folder since a second reinstall seems…

  • Woman in a Box of Rats

She’s there to publicise a Keep Britain Tidy initiative to get people to stop dropping food on our streets.

  • Galloway in Beirut

“Gorgeous” George Galloway is presenting a couple of shows for Talksport live from Beirut this weekend in what his station has described (according to Mediaguardian) as “the first live radio phone-in broadcast from a war zone”. They are kidding aren’t they? Will he be hosting his show from southern Beirut? And did I not read…

  • Gambling

I read this great extract from Mike Atherton’s new book, Luck Be a Lady Tonight: Gambling – A Story of Triumph and Disaster, in the paper this morning. And, yes, that is ex-England cricketing captain Mike Atherton. I may actually have to buy this book.

  • Spoof Ad

Shh. I’ll have to take this down very shortly. It’s just a fun little video I made today at work to help with something we’re doing. It features the Virgin Radio breakfast team amongst others and Chris Goldson came up with the concept – I just shot and edited it.

  • The New Solar System

I love the fact that Wikipedia is already completely up to date following today’s news that Pluto is no longer a fully-fledged planet. It’s now a dwarf planet, although I’ll be sad to lose it somehow.

  • IPTV and the IAB

This week’s New Media Age makes quite interesting reading for various reasons – some of which I’ll go through separately, not least the interview with David Elstein. But there’s an interesting piece by Guy Phillipson of the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), an organisation who’s role is to “work with our members to ensure marketers can…

  • Entourage on ITV2

Just a note to say that Entourage is starting on ITV2 (not ITV4 as I at first thought) on September 10. They’ve got some kind of viral/microsite up live now. Not sure about the VIP access bit. But it looks like they’re going to seriously promote this show one way or another.
