Bodies

Bodies is the return to medical drama of Jed Mercurio - writer of the very excellent Cardiac Arrest. It's based on his novel of the same name, and to be honest, we're right back in good old Cardiac Arrest territory here. Not once do we get to see outside the hospital, and while we're not following a junior doctor around, we're certainly seeing the less pleasant side of life in an NHS hospital. The hook for this series is that Max Beasley's registrar is working for Patrick Baladi's consultant. It soon becomes apparent, that nice though his consultant is, especially when compared with Keith Allen's cynical one, he's simply not up to the job.

Should this be reported? The series is fast paced, and any problem that one might have over too much happening in too short a timeframe is tempered when one realises that time is actually flying mighty quickly in this series.

If BBC Three can continue to produce drama of the quality of this, then it'll go up in my estimation an awful lot (although one still feels that this is really just early sight of a BBC2 series - as indeed it is).
