  • Hutton Inquiry Website

Full marks for putting up an official Hutton Inquiry website. Poor marks for making it so rubbish – particularly the frames nonsense with the evidence. Fortunately we now have it reversioned by Matthew Somerville.

  • Blogdex stuff

Looking down the page at my RSS feed of blogdex, to see what other people are talking about, I see that some Weekly Standard article is having a bit of a go at the BBC about its coverage of the war. I’m kind of loathed to link to it since it just chucks it further…

  • Fair and Balanced

I like to think that my blog is fair and balanced (via Gia).

  • Iceland Whaling Again

Sadly Iceland have restarted whaling. Frankly, even if there are more minke whales alive than are stricly necessary to keep the species alive (a great state of affairs!), that doesn’t take away from the fact that they die a cruel and painful death. I should start supporting the WDCS again.

  • Agricultural Subsidies

When Coldplay were on stage on Saturday at the V Festival, all the TV close-ups clearly showed the phrase “Make Trade Fair” on the side of Chris Martin’s piano, and also written on his hands. He’s a massive advocate of campaign’s such as Oxfam’s. The Guardian has started a new blog today which is solely…

  • International Texts

A story on Mediaguardian reports another little area in which mobile operators are stinging their customers – international texts. Of course Orange already double charge you with the cost at the far end as well as the cost at your end. Charging 24p for such a tiny piece of data when email is free is…

  • V Festival 2003

Or just “V Festival” as it should be known. The weather held out, and the Virgin Radio hospitality tent looked better than ever. We didn’t have the problems we’d had before with food, which was handled expertly and efficiently. Coldplay and the Chili Peppers headlined, and I did make out of the Virgin area on…

  • Premiership Websites

There’s something wrotten in the state of Premiership websites. It seems that a number of them have been taken over by a company called Premium TV. Indeed their website claims that they run over 80% of Premiership and Football League websites, and that’s where the problem lies. I’m sure that they’re able to use the…

  • Party Tickets

So as the book thing in the top left hand corner says, I’m currently reading “The Way We Live Now”. There was an excellent passage I was reading on the way home last night, detailing how 200 tickets to a dinner that Melmotte was giving to the Emporer of China were to be allocated. It…

  • The Hutton Inquiry

The Hutton Inquiry is underway, and it has a website. The evidence so far is interesting. It’s difficult to see which way it’ll go.

  • Googled

    This site’s on Google!

  • Spooks

The final episode of Spooks aired last night on BBC1 after I was made to wait a week (since the preview episode thing doesn’t apply to final shows). The first series ended with a big does she/doesn’t she die in the explosion cliffhanger. As it turned out she didn’t, but another bomb elsewhere in London…
