Hitchhikers is back!
As many of the original cast as could be rounded up (well you can age far more gracefully on radio), and I love the clever way they handled the change of the Voice of the Book from the now deceased Peter Jones to William Franklyn.
Fortunately, if you missed it today, it’s repeated on Thursday evening at 11.00pm. And if you miss that, it’s available to listen on the web for another seven days after that (so in effect each episode’s available for nine days). Actually the Radio 4 Hitchhikers website is probably Radio 4’s biggest ever web effort. I’m guessing that it’s going to be enormously popular over the next six weeks.
And if you miss all of those options, there will of course be a set of audio CDs is planned of the new series, with extended episodes. There are also rumours of a Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio DVD at some stage. The place to keep up to date with all things Hitchhikers, seems to be Planet Magrathea.
