I mean, I&#8217;ve certainly always thought so. Until now.<br \/>\nThat&#8217;s why I was appalled to read <a href=\"http:\/\/rebekkagudleifs.com\/blog\/2007\/05\/15\/freedom-of-expression-telling-the-truth\/\">this post<\/a> from Rebekka who&#8217;s easily one of the more famous Flickr photographers.<br \/>\nShe put up a composite of several photos she&#8217;d taken of her home country Iceland and explained that they&#8217;d all been illegally downloaded and sold by a UK based company for money. Going through sales on eBay, she calculated that they&#8217;d benefited to the tune of several thousand pounds. She&#8217;d talked to a lawyer in Iceland, but being relatively poor and in another country, he&#8217;d been unable to help.<br \/>\nThere were hundreds of comments below, not all of which I read, but which were very supportive of her plight.<br \/>\nAnd now Flickr has removed the whole thing.<br \/>\nThomas Hawk (another great internet photographer) <a href=\"http:\/\/thomashawk.com\/2007\/05\/flickr-censorship.html\">has more<\/a>.<br \/>\nNot cool.<br \/>\n[Update] <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/help\/forum\/40074\/page3\/#reply213196\">Flickr has apologised<\/a>.<br \/>\n[Update 2] And fronted it all up in their <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.flickr.com\/flickrblog\/2007\/05\/sometimes_we_ma.html\">blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We all know that Flickr is really cool don&#8217;t we?
