Well it was only a pound in HMV since it&#8217;s the Penguin Popular Classics edition.<br \/>\nThis is a book that for years I feel I should have read. We always used to keep a copy in Sheringham and despite the action taking place in the main along the northern coast of Germany, the sands rang true in North Norfolk.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s a turn of the century (the last century) spy thriller, albeit at quite a sedate pace. But the way the book&#8217;s put together easily sends out signals of the true fears people must have suffered at the time.
