{"id":485,"date":"2003-11-05T19:55:00","date_gmt":"2003-11-05T19:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.adambowie.com\/2003\/11\/vile_bodies\/"},"modified":"2003-11-05T19:55:00","modified_gmt":"2003-11-05T19:55:00","slug":"vile_bodies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.adambowie.com\/blog\/2003\/11\/vile_bodies\/","title":{"rendered":"Vile Bodies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been reading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0141182873\">this<\/a> since I saw Stephen Fry&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adambowie.com\/weblog\/archive\/000508.html\">film version<\/a> a couple of weeks ago. It&#8217;s been some years since I originally read the book, and I think I was probably quite young and missed an awful lot of the references. The Penguin Classics edition is finely annotated and it&#8217;s a great fun book all round.<br \/>\nThe film is actually remarkably close to the novel, with only the most inconsequential of sub-plots dropped.
