{"id":641,"date":"2004-04-15T11:49:41","date_gmt":"2004-04-15T11:49:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.adambowie.com\/2004\/04\/firewall\/"},"modified":"2004-04-15T11:49:41","modified_gmt":"2004-04-15T11:49:41","slug":"firewall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.adambowie.com\/blog\/2004\/04\/firewall\/","title":{"rendered":"Firewall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Regular readers will know that I&#8217;m something of a Mankell fan. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/1843431122\">Firewall<\/a> is the latest to appear here in translation, and apparantly the penultimate Kurt Wallander novel.<br \/>\nFirewall starts with someone dropping dead at a cashpoint and a seemingly senseless murder of a taxi driver by two teenage girls, before the plot thickens and a global conspiracy is revealed.<br \/>\nI found this to be quite a breezy page-turner, and it was good to get back to the bleak Skane setting after the aside of northern Sweden in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adambowie.com\/weblog\/archive\/000580.html\">The Return of the Dancing Master<\/a>. Wallander is getting ever more grouchy, with office politics the latest of his problems.
