At the same time, there&#8217;s a seemingly original chapter of Alexander Duma&#8217;s classic novel The Three Muskateers that&#8217;s somehow linked. And there are people relating to the novel&#8217;s characters who are chasing after either one thing or another, while others are being killed.<br \/>\nWhat&#8217;s going on?<br \/>\nPerez-Reverte leads us on a clever chase across Europe as the story is slowly unravels.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve not seen the film that was based on this book &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0142688\">The Ninth Gate<\/a> &#8211; but what I&#8217;ve read about it on the web makes it obvious that the story has been simplified in the extreme for the film.
