Has Flashmob The Opera Been Cancelled?

One of BBC Three’s autumn highlights was to be Flashmob the Opera, which was to take place next Wednesday.
Last week I got an email from Londonmobs telling me to prepare for a mob event near Paddington on Wednesday 6 October. But a few minutes ago saying that is was being cancelled for security reasons…
I probably shouldn’t be blogging about this, since first rule Londonblogs is that you don’t talk about Londonblogs, but I can quite see how inviting untold thousands to a commuter railway station on a weekday evening (albeit at 8.00pm) isn’t a great idea. Maybe they’ll shift the whole thing to Blackheath or somewhere?
UPDATE: Maybe not, because it’s being actively promoted on the BBC Three website. I note, however, that it’s now only saying that it’ll be held in a central London venue. I’d guess that it’ll have to be somewhere where numbers are easily limited, and where it’s not potentially going to cause chaos to commuters. Still I suppose you could do both the BBC Three thing and first go to Pillow Fight Club.
UPDATE 2: It happened, and it happened at Paddington. Look here for more.
