Paddington Flashmob

As a follow up to my entry doubting whether Flashmob The Opera would go ahead at Paddington Station yesterday, it’s worth noting that it did indeed. So I’m not quite sure why Londonflashmobs had to cancel their plans to take part. I’d suggest that the confusion caused by this was probably the reason that only a modest 60 or so flashmobbers turned up.
I didn’t catch the whole thing, but saw a certain amount of the 10.00pm repeat. It was reasonably obvious that a good proportion of people knew that it was going to happen and had turned up especially. More annoyingly, that was also the case for a number of press photographers who repeatedly got into shot, and therefore detracted somewhat from the performances. Overall, a cynical me must admit that it worked better than expected, and I wouldn’t have thought that many commuters could really have been that inconvenienced.
