Decent Radio

While the Radio Times releases its BBC-centric list of the Top 40 Most Powerful People On Radio (link ironically to The Scotsman as I couldn’t find it on the Radio Times website), I’ve been enjoying some other decent radio.
The funniest programme at the moment is undoubtedly The Armando Iannucci Charm Offensive. I got to see last week’s edition being recorded with guest Phil Jupitus, Dave Gorman and Lucy Porter. You have precisely 21 hours to listen to it before tomorrow’s show gets replaces it on the BBC Player. (Oh, and also quite amusing is the return of ISIHAC).
The darkest programme recently must surely have been this month’s The Wire play on Radio 3. The Miracle of Reason by Nick Dear was a two hander featuring politician Josh going away on an adulterous trip with television journalist Amanda. Very soon, things aren’t going quite as well as they’d hoped and it seems that there are some very troubling psychological problems to be faced. Gripping stuff – and it’s up for another three weeks.
