It looks like Freesat is really happening – that is to say, not the Sky version (a website that took a bit of hunting around to find since it isn’t really obviously located on the main Sky website).
It’ll be worth seeing if there’s any of the hyperbole that surrounded the BBC going unscrambled about sports and film rights crossing boundaries. It was used as part of the reason why 24 went from BBC2 to Sky One, for example. Not that this has stopped other Fox programming such as Arrested Development or the forthcoming new series of Family Guy from airing unencrypted.
