The Mediaguardian 100

Mediaguardian published their list of the most powerful 100 people in the industry today. As usual you get the feeling that the contributors had more fun putting it together than anything and it’s all a bit meaningless.
But what I find really strange is that despite putting less usual entries in previous lists (for example, the ghost of Lord Reith in 2003, the institutional investor in 2004 and Mr Holy Moly in 2005) there’s no mention of some kind of combination of “citizen journalist”, “blogger” or “social networker” in this year’s list. I don’t know quite how I’d refine it overall, but with social networks growing (viz Rupert Murdoch gracing the current edition of Wired magazine), it’s the citizen that’s having the most power in making or breaking “things”.
