Shaun the Sheep Scheduling

I wrote about Shaun the Sheep over there in the right hand column a few days ago, but the more I watch it, the more I think that it’s terribly “wasted” in a 3.45pm slot.
That’s not to say that it shouldn’t go out at 3.45pm, but it’s very cleverly and wittily done, and I think more adults deserve a chance to see this. To the extent that the way I’d also schedule it, would be to run it in primetime – right before/after Eastenders! You could shave five minutes from a few programmes – they sell better at 22 – 25 minutes anyway internationally. But this deserves wider viewing. It’d dovetail quite nicely with an imported sitcom, for example.
The episode the other day about the farmer painting was full of gags your average five year old was not going to get, as was the disco episode.
Everyone loves this stuff – Creature Comforts worked well for ITV – but this is only a few minutes and is as close to the style of golden era cartoons as we get these days.
