Psychic to Solve Murders

I can take a joke as much as the next person, and the fact that loads of people seem to take Living TV’s Most Haunted seriously is fine by me. There are plenty of people who believe in all sorts of nonsense. I’m slightly more uneasy about people like John Edwards and his British equivalents who fill up vast amounts of the same channel’s daytime programming, but I can just about live with it.
But today’s Broadcast reports thatn Living are now making a series called Sensing Murder in which they’ll attempt to use psychics to solve police cases from the last 15 years. I really hope that Ofcom come down on this like a ton of bricks. I don’t care if relatives are willing to let Living go ahead with this nonsense – it’s simply giving hope where there is none. Television can help with unsolved crimes, and series like Rough Justice freed innocent men and women, sometimes identifying the true culprits at the same time. Just this last week we’ve had Five catching petty criminals via a gameshow. This is in a different league.
Getting “in touch” with murder victims with fraudulent psychics is not something I want to see on TV thanks.

It’s all getting seriously out of hand. MAybe we should just ban everything which has a reality feel to it. It’s normally crap TV and we can all do reality ourselves.

“Reality” is the biggest misnomer of the lot of course. With any luck the whole thing will burn itself out.
In this instance, I just feel that since psychics are utterly unproven, people who are very vunerable are being offered false hope.
