For reasons that are now lost in the mists of time, every Christmas I go out, buy the double issue of that year’s Radio Times magazine, and annotate the key days over the festive period with my thoughts on what is and is not worth watching.

I’ve been doing this since 2009, and I’m still going. And that’s despite the fact that the very nature of television has profoundly changed over the intervening fifteen years.

That all said, something tomorrow is likely to be the biggest show of the year across streaming and broadcast television excluding England games at Euro 2024.
