Edison Research Top 25 Podcasts in the UK: Q3 2025

Edison Research has released its latest UK podcast rankings for Q3 2025.

A reminder that this survey is conducted amongst at least 2,000 weekly podcast listeners each quarter, and they are counted regardless of which platform they listen (or watch) podcasts on. The methodology is the same as that used in the US, where they publish a quarterly top 50 podcasts.

In many respects, this survey is a little more of the same. The top 6 titles are in the same places as last quarter, with the two big UK news podcasts – Newscast and The News Agents – each climbing one spot.

Here’s my usual tracker showing how shows have performed over a longer period:

The only completely new entry in the Top 25 is RedHanded, a British true crime podcast.

It’s notable that a couple of the re-entries to the Top 25 are BBC podcasts that are seasonal as opposed to always-on which has become the norm in recent years. Uncanny, You’re Dead To Me and Desert Island Discs do not publish fresh episodes all year around, although Desert Island Discs does publish repeat episodes which means it tends to stay in the Top 25.

The Overlap has bounced back into the Top 25 this quarter, although at the expense of its sister podcast, Stick to Football, which falls out.

Curiously, Parenting Hell has fallen out of these charts for the first ever time – it had spent the last two quarters at 15. That does suggest that between 15 and perhaps 35, many titles are quite interchangeable in a given quarter because they’re quite closely matched for listening. I did check and they only took a single week off during the summer when they played “best of” compilations. I doubt that was the cause of dropping out of the chart.

Mel Robbins also drops out of the UK chart after a single quarter, even if I see nothing but her book whenever I go into Waterstones (I may be more attuned to podcasters’ books! The Rest Is… has a quiz book out for Christmas I see.)

The Louis Theroux podcast has also dropped out of this quarter’s charts. This is likely to be its seasonal nature. It was off during July, August and September. It’s back for Q4 though. I say it’s seasonal, but to be clear, the podcast has had three seasons in the calendar year 2025!
