Some photos of London with some heavily treated colour. More on Flickr.
One goal I’ve set myself in 2015 is getting better at shooting at night. My night time shots are just awful, terrible really. You’ve got it down to a science as yours are always fantastic.
Thanks Kevin. It must be said that there’s a certain amount of trial and error involved. And a tripod or something similar to allow long exposure times becomes pretty important. The top photo has a decent length exposure and saw the camera (a Sony RX100 III) balanced on something flat on the bridge with a two second self timer to remove camera shake.
In the end, I still have to do some tweaking in Lightroom to get things looking how I want them. These are a little over the top for naturalistic imagery, but even doing things with more subtlety takes a certain degree of tweaking of exposure, contrast, highlights and blacks to ensure that things aren’t too light or too blown out.
